Meet the Staff

Dr. Janette Alvarez is the owner, and currently sole veterinarian at Animal Wellness. Dr. Alvarez graduated from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She has been practicing veterinary medicine in Fairfield County for the past 19 years. Dr. Alvarez has professional interests in internal medicine, geriatric care, complementary therapies, nutrition, behavioral medicine, and preventative care. Dr. Alvarez enjoys family life with her husband Frank and their three children Noah, Colby, and Jada, as well as the family mutt Tiger, and Keeshond Cleo. She also enjoys reading, writing, gardening, and hiking.

Alison Caputo is our client services coordinator. Alison is from England where she enjoyed a career as a high school teacher. Alison enjoys time with her husband Todd and twins Jack and Olivia, as well as their dogs Charley and Cooper, and their backyard chickens. In her free time Alison enjoys reading, outdoors, and karate.

Natalie Ortega is our veterinary team assistant. Natalie earned her degree in marketing in 2012, and shortly thereafter joined AWVC. Natalie has a very gentle, empathetic way about her, which has proven to be most comforting to our post-operative patients. She enjoys life with her dog Brodie.

Noah Alvarez is our hospital assistant. Noah is new to assisting, and helps us with all aspects of hospital and business functions, including being in charge of our technology. In Noah's free time he enjoys playing and listening to music, hanging out with friends, ice hockey, and gaming.
